Hornsby got off to a good start and were 4-2 up after the first three players of each team had completed their frames. Norths came back and were 6-5 down with the last singles which could have gone either way but Hornsby took the frame to go 7-5 up.

The Championship was won by Joe Minici who just last weekend had won the NSW State Snooker Championship for the first time. Joe defeated Vic Cravino in the final. The semi finalists were Ron Tulloch and Michael Pearson. The highest break of 173 went to Michael Pearson.
